A few weeks ago we released the Boemska HTML5 Data Adapter for SAS as Free Software, licenced under the GPL. You can now download it from our GitHub repository here:
https://github.com/boemska/h54s
We have also started creating a few ‘seed apps’ - skeleton templates for each HTML5 framework that have the key features of the adapter already implemented. The first one, for Google’s AngularJS, does a great job of showing off how the features of the adapter actually work once hooked into your app: features like the SAS logon management, application logs, debug mode and activity indicators. You can get the AngularJS seed app here:

Now, some of you will remember that in May last year I wrote a post titled Build Apps for your Enterprise with SAS and HTML5, in that post announcing that this release would happen that following week. Here’s the thing - that same week was the week we took our Enterprise Session Monitor for SAS to market. ESM is a huge, cross-platform product. For a company of only 7 people we suddenly became incredibly busy, and the documentation required to make this release worthwhile had to take a back seat. So to those of you eagerly awaiting this moment, I apologise.
This week we will be releasing our HTML5 Adapter for SAS as Free Open Source Software. - yours truly, May 2015
Nevertheless, we’re here now and it’s all systems go. If you have any questions or are looking to get started, absolutely come join our Gitter chatroom and ask someone. If you have some HTML5 developer friends, show them the project and see what they make of it. Lastly, if you have an idea for an app but don’t have any HTML5 developers, then drop Boemska a line and see if it’s something we can help you get started with. Building HTML5 Apps is what we do.
Above all, stay tuned. This is only the beginning.
